Three stages of fast charging

The first stage

Pre-charge: Recover charging from the battery’s over-discharge state, restore its activity, and prevent the battery from being damaged by excessive current.

The second stage

Constant current charging (fast charging): When the battery voltage reaches the pre-charge voltage threshold, the battery is charged with a large and constant current. During this charging phase, the voltage keeps increasing, the current remains constant, and the battery power increases rapidly.

The third stage

Constant voltage charging (trickle charging): Constant voltage charging (trickle charging): When the battery voltage reaches the voltage threshold, the voltage will not increase, the current will gradually decrease, and the battery will be fully charged in the form of trickle charging

It can be seen that fast charging is mainly reflected in the constant current charging stage. Therefore, the duration of the constant current charging phase and the magnitude of the peak current are the main factors affecting the fast charging performance.
